We are UEC-OSA student chapter, a group of students studying about optical science and technology.

About

UEC(The University of Electro-Communications) is a national science university in Tokyo. OSA is an abbreviation for "The Optical Society of America" and stands for The Optical Society of America. UEC-OSA student chapter is positioned as the University of Electro-Communications Branch of OSA.

 

UEC-OSA student chapter consists of students majoring in optics at UEC. We want to interact each other and learn each field. We sometimes hold events to convey the fun of studying optics, sometimes teach own research Field each other, also sometimes we invite researchers and hold a lecture.

Meaning of our logo

Our logo is Gentoo penguin.
Why we chose this animal for our logo is the story that “Penguin which jump into the sea to search fishes is the bravest in their flock, and called first penguin.“
We chose the logo with a wish “Like first penguin, we want to be a student who takes the lead in researching optical science and technology.”
